A photographic journey on the road, aboard a nine-seat van, in search of the perfect shot. The protagonists are the Spomenik of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but there is room for everyday life, natural landscapes and moments of relaxation and sharing. A full loop of the country, starting and ending in Sarajevo, with extra stops and photo breaks depending on the conditions and opportunities we find along the way.

The Spomenik — “monument” in Serbo-Croatian — are the modernist, futuristic memorials built in the former Yugoslavia between the 1960s and the 1980s to commemorate the battles of the Second World War, the partisan resistance and the victims of fascism. With a professional photographer by your side, who adapts to every level, in a small group by choice: for those who want to experience photography as a shared adventure, exploration and personal growth.

ITINERARY

  • Flight from Italy and arrival in Sarajevo, meeting with the group and departure by van towards Tjentište.

    Flight with us: those departing from Milan on the set dates can book the flight together with the organiser (flight not included in the price; dates and airport to be confirmed).

    Own flight: you must arrive in Sarajevo on Day 1 of the trip (time to be confirmed).

    Overnight: Tjentište area (accommodation to be confirmed).

  • On the road to Mostar, then on to Sanski Most.

    Overnight: Sanski Most / Kozara area, two nights in the same accommodation (to be confirmed).

  • Crossing into Croatia for the Jasenovac memorial, then the Kozara monument.

    Overnight: same accommodation as Day 2.

  • On the road to the Zenica monument.

    Overnight: Zenica area (accommodation to be confirmed).

  • Return to Sarajevo, where the loop ends.

    Overnight: Sarajevo (accommodation to be confirmed).

  • Return flight from Sarajevo to Italy (flight not included in the price). Those who booked their own flight can continue their journey or leave for another destination.

Everything you need to know

    • A photographic journey on the road through Bosnia and Herzegovina, aboard a nine-seat van, starting and ending in Sarajevo

    • Identity card valid for travel abroad (Bosnia and Herzegovina is not part of the European Union), an exit ticket from the country and proof of accommodation booking; rules change, so check before you leave

    • Day 3 includes a border crossing into Croatia (Jasenovac)

    • Travel insurance with cancellation and assistance cover, valid for the whole trip, is compulsory and not included in the price.

    • No age or experience limits: the professional photographer adapts their support to each participant’s level

    • Duration — 6 days / 5 nights: 1 night in Tjentište, 2 nights in the same accommodation between Sanski Most and Kozara, 1 night in Zenica and 1 night in Sarajevo

    • Where — Sarajevo, Tjentište, Mostar, Sanski Most, Jasenovac (Croatia), Kozara and Zenica

    • Accommodation — mainly apartments or hotels with double rooms, depending on availability

    • Getting around — a nine-seat van for the whole loop, with extra stops and photo breaks depending on conditions and opportunities along the way

    • Group — a small group by choice, maximum 6 participants, plus a professional photographer and a travel coordinator

    • Photography course — on-the-field tips while shooting, optional exercises and activities to spark creativity and exchange, briefings before activities, post-production sessions, specific photography exercises and Q&A time

    • Flights — not included; those departing from Milan on the set dates can book the flight together with the organiser

    • 5 nights’ accommodation, mainly in apartments or hotels with double rooms

    • Nine-seat van rental for 6 days, with full insurance

    • All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

    • Photography course with a professional photographer for the whole journey

    • Flights to and from Sarajevo

    • Travel insurance with cancellation and assistance cover (compulsory)
